Welcome To The Old Packet House

The Old Packet House nestled snugly by the Bridgewater Canal is ideally placed for towpath ramblers, dog walkers and cyclists. Dating from the 1800s, historically a stopover for coal merchants and commuters travelling the canal between Manchester and Runcorn, it’s a charming and characterful pub serving locals, visitors and ‘man’s best friend’ alike!

Boasting delectable home cooked meals – renowned Sunday Roasts a must, and fine cask ales, committed husband and wife team Carl and Sharni along with their highly attentive and friendly staff cordially offer a hearty welcome to all.

Family friendly and known locally as The Packet, the main bar with it’s cosy log fire centrepiece enhancing the ambiance is complemented by a raised intimate dining area and a pleasant walled beer garden located to the rear.

Event nights range from quiz and trivia, themed and disco to live nights with open mic, karaoke and local bands. Large screen TVs are available for all Sports aficionados with the ever-popular jukebox primed and ready to play.

The Old Packet House is accessible by bus, local Metrolink tram and Regional Trains with both services stopping at Navigation Road Station only a short walk away affording a great opportunity for ale trail enthusiasts to indulge their passion!!
